Fall 2002

Total immersive imaging coming to Max Lent Communications.  Web content is more than words.  Content also refers to multimedia imagery and sound.  Beginning in 2002 Max Lent Communications will offer its Web development clients a suite of state of the art multimedia services.  These services will include:

  • Panoramic images for the Web.  Max Lent's clients will be empowered to display 360 degree panoramic images of interiors and exteriors to their Web visitors.  This service will be of great value to realty firms, hotels, interior decorators, merchants, and many other businesses.  An example of this technique can be seen at:  http://www.taj-mahal.net.
  • Total immersive imagery.  This takes the 360 degree images a step further by creating a spherical image by combining two fisheye photographs.  The viewer can pan the image both vertically and horizontally.
  • Object Movies.  When consumers purchase items like jewelry, crafts, and other objects over the Web they prefer to see all sides of the object.  By posting object movies to the Web merchandisers empower users to rotate products.  The more the consumer knows about a product the more satisfied they will be with the sale.  Being able to see the sides and back of an object by dragging a cursor over it makes it easy for consumers to make fully informed purchasing decisions.  An example of this technique can be seen at:  http://www.kaidan.com/fishingreel.html.
Max Lent Communications will be implementing these technologies as an ongoing effort to keep clients on the cutting edge of e-commerce technologies.  For more information contact Max Lent. 7/6/01.

Please note that the MLC (Max Lent Communications) Rochester Guide has changed its name and moved to http://www.inforochester.com. If you have this page book marked as your guide to Rochester, please use the new URL.  If you arrived here from a search engine, please inform the search engine that the Rochester Guide has moved.  Max Lent Communications is still the publisher, host, and content provider for InfoRochester.com.  Sponsorship of InfoRochester.com  is my way of contributing my skills and expertise to my community.  Max Lent 12/25/00
